Food presentation is an art, and art principles should be followed for a winning display. After recently returning from a couple of trips to mainland Europe, where food presentation is outstanding and service is impressively efficient without being stiff, it once again struck me how bad we are in the UK at showing our produce off to its best effect.
Indeed, the independent retail trade offers a very poor showing most of the time (the multiples don’t really care) and, as I stared at a fresh produce / meat / poultry / cheese display in Paris a light bulb came.... more
